Known issue: Some creators are seeing an intermittent error when connecting a payout account. Stripe are reviewing it and we expect it resolved shortly. Everything else works as normal.

Printreon

Licensed 3D printable files, sold by subscription.

Printreon is a digital marketplace for 3D printing. Approved designers publish STL, 3MF, OBJ and ZIP files to a gated library, buyers pay a monthly price for licensed access, and every download is delivered instantly through a protected link.

Sell your files: a storefront page, subscription pricing, a licensed file library and Stripe payouts.

// The product

One page. Your tiers. Your files behind them.

Patreon was built for posts and video. Printreon is built around the thing you actually ship: a printable file, in a format a slicer understands, delivered to the people paying for it.

  • Your creator page

A public page with your banner, bio, tiers and file library. One link to send anywhere.

  • Tiers you control

As many as you like, each with its own price and its own gated files. Monthly or annual.

  • A real file library

STL, 3MF, OBJ and ZIP with in-browser previews, tags, print settings and version notes.

  • Downloads that stay yours

Files live in private storage. Supporters get short-lived signed links, so nothing leaks to a public URL.

How it works

01

Set your tiers

Name them, price them, decide what each one unlocks.

02

Upload your files

STL, 3MF, OBJ or ZIP, with previews and print settings.

03

Supporters subscribe

Stripe checkout runs on your page. Cards, wallets, taxes handled.

04

They download

Signed links open instantly for the tiers you granted.

// Why not a drive folder

What you get that a posts-and-links setup cannot do.

Built around the file, not the post

Tier gating sits on the model itself, so access is decided per file rather than per announcement.

Previews before download

STL, 3MF and OBJ render in the browser, with dimensions, triangle count and your print settings attached.

Versions instead of duplicates

Upload a fix as v2 with a changelog. Links keep working and supporters get told what changed.

Files that stay behind the paywall

Private storage and short-lived signed links, not a shared drive folder that outlives the subscription.

// Quality

Every file says how it was made.

Marketplaces are filling up with untested models that never open in a slicer. Printreon takes the other side of that. Uploads run a mesh sanity check, your first files are reviewed by a person, and every model carries a badge that tells buyers exactly what they are getting.

AI is allowed and has to be disclosed. If a model is essentially raw AI output, it needs a print photo before it can be published.

Read the quality and AI policy

Print-Tested

The creator printed it and attached a photo of the result.

Digital Sculpt

Modelled by hand, watertight and slicer-scaled, not yet printed.

AI-Assisted

AI was used somewhere in the process, and the creator said so.

Buyers can report a failed print. Enough reports and the file goes back to review, so a bad model does not sit there collecting subscriptions.

Questions

What file types can I sell?+

STL, 3MF, OBJ and ZIP archives. Files are stored privately and delivered through expiring signed links, not public URLs.

What does it cost?+

Nothing to open a page. Printreon takes 10% of paid subscription revenue. Stripe's own processing fee applies on top, as it does anywhere.

How do I get paid?+

Through Stripe Connect, into your own bank account. You onboard with Stripe directly and payouts run on their schedule.

Can I give files away free?+

Yes. Any file can be marked free, with no tier required.

What is the policy on AI?+

AI is allowed but must be disclosed. Hand-refined models publish normally as AI-Assisted. A model that is essentially raw AI output has to be printed, with a photo attached, before it goes live.

Can supporters cancel?+

Any time, through the Stripe customer portal. Access runs to the end of the paid period and then stops.

Apply for the beta

Printreon is small and invite-only while we get it right. Tell us what you make and we will send an invite when there is room. Supporters can join the list too.

  • We read applications weekly and invite in batches.
  • Invited creators get a setup link and keep the founding-creator fee.
  • We only email you about Printreon. Unsubscribe any time.
